Basketball Recap: Copan Has No Trouble Against Foyil

After losing to Foyil the last time they met, Copan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Copan Hornets enjoyed a cozy 37-20 victory over the Foyil Panthers on Thursday. That looming 37-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hornets yet this season.

Copan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elyzabeth Odum led the charge by putting up 18 points and six steals. Odum's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kaylee Woodworth was another key player, posting five points and 15 boards.

The win made it two in a row for Copan and bumps their season record up to 5-9. As for Foyil, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Copan will take on Barnsdall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foyil, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Foyil Panthers face off against the Welch Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
