Baseball Game Preview: Athenian Owls vs. College Prep Cougars

The Athenian Owls will take on the College Prep Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Athenian took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bentley a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Owls have won six matchups by more than 13 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between College Prep and Athenian, and College Prep kept the tradition alive. The Cougars came out on top against the Owls by a score of 8-3.

Kobi Thomas was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Tobias Burkoth also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

College Prep now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Athenian, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
