Football Game Preview: Elmont Memorial Spartans vs. Hewlett Bulldogs

The Elmont Memorial Spartans will head out to take on the Hewlett Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Elmont Memorial lost 29-6 to Carey on Saturday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Seahawks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hewlett's offense. They were dealt a 27-0 loss at the hands of Bethpage on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 95th).

Hewlett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Elmont Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Elmont Memorial strolled past Hewlett in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 20-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
