Football Recap: Ripon Find Success

Ripon was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 19-18 victory over the West Wolfpack. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since September 7, 2024.

Leading Ripon to victory were Ava Aguirre and Ana Shriver. Aguirre gained 125 total yards and three touchdowns, while Shriver threw for 220 yards and one TD while completing 80% of her passes. Aguirre didn't just play on offense: she also defended two passes and snagged an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Ripon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aguirre and Teagan Osborn. Osborn is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Aguirre got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Ripon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for West, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Ripon will face off against Gustine at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West, they will head out to challenge Stagg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
