Recap: First Academy Lions vs. Colquitt Christian Academy Cavaliers
This season hasn't been kind to the First Academy Lions, who are still winless after their sixth game. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-34 loss to Colquitt Christian Academy.
First Academy lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Logan James, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. James scored a full 47.1% of First Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Steele, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
First Academy's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.6 points per game. As for Colquitt Christian Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Academy will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colquitt Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Byne Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th.
