Volleyball Recap: Pierce Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road + How To Watch

After flying high against Paradise on Thursday, Pierce came back down to earth. The Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Nicolaus Spartans on Tuesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While Pierce had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Charlie Wayman paced Pierce's offense, picking up 12 kills. Wayman got some help from Magali Jauregui and her 30 assists. Finally, Rylie Delepierre kept Pierce's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Pierce's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 23-9. As for East Nicolaus, their win bumped their record up to 30-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pierce will take on rival Winters at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, East Nicolaus is set to face off against their familiar foe Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
