Soccer Game Preview: Mariner vs. Jackson

Mariner is 2-8 against Jackson since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Mariner will welcome Jackson at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mariner fell victim to Archbishop Murphy and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that Mariner have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Jackson was forced to settle for a draw. They and Kamiak finished up their game with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Mariner and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Jackson's draw gives them a new season record of 2-2-1.

Mariner was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Does Mariner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jackson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
