Basketball Recap: Leon Takes a Loss

Leon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 57-46 to the Madison County Cowboys. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 63-43.

Madison County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaidyn Wesley out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Wesley a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Niyah Livingston, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Leon's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Madison County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Leon will host Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison County, they will venture away from home to challenge Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
