Xavier Jimenez Game Report: @ Gruver

Lockney was sadly handed a defeat on Tuesday, but Xavier Jimenez did his best to prevent it. Jimenez tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off nine hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (three) he has had since back in April of 2024.

Even though Jimenez couldn't lead Lockney over Gruver, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sadly, Jimenez's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Longhorns' three-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Jimenez and the Longhorns surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Wednesday's match.
