Basketball Game Preview: Morris Eagles vs. Beggs Demons

Morris and Beggs are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Morris Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Beggs Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Morris saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 73-51 to Allen. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Beggs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 56-47 to Henryetta.

Morris has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Beggs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything came up roses for Morris against Beggs in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morris since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
