Football Recap: Good Hope Makes It Six in a Row at Home + How To Watch

While Good Hope's victory against Fayette County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 24-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since September 6, 2024.

A big part of Good Hope's win came down to the chemistry between Parker Johnson and his top target Carter Rutherford. Johnson threw for 125 yards and one TD on only 11 passes while Rutherford picked up 107 receiving yards and one score.

Good Hope didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Fayette County to a completion percentage of just 28.6%. The Raiders weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.

Despite the loss, Fayette County still got an impressive performance from Maurice Harris, who rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown.

Good Hope pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.2 points on average over those games. As for Fayette County, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
