Baseball Recap: Hastings Falls to Plainwell in First Game of Season

Hastings had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Plainwell Trojans by a score of 8-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Spencer Wilkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tyler Frazer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory (which was Plainwell's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

While Hastings had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
