Baseball Recap: Rockland Wins Going Away Against Hull

Rockland never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hull on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jake Levy tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Rockland let Caleb Walo and Mady Leoncavallo run wild. Walo earned two runs and four stolen bases, while Leoncavallo went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Leoncavallo a new career-high. Joey Mann also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

The win snapped Rockland's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for Hull, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockland will venture away from home to challenge Cardinal Spellman at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hull, they will head out to face off against Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
