Baseball Game Preview: Oneida Indians vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders

The Oneida Indians will challenge the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oneida has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 8.

On Thursday, Oneida didn't have quite enough to beat Gatlinburg-Pittman and fell 5-4.

Gabe Brennan put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Brennan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Daugherty, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Daugherty is becoming a predictor of Oneida's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-17 when he doesn't).

Oneida's record is now 8-18. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, their record now sits at 16-16.
