Basketball Recap: Grant Park Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Grant Park extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Clifton Central Comets 61-29. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

When it comes to explaining why Grant Park lost, don't look at Rigo Venegas. Despite the final result, he posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals. Venegas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Max Paez was another key player, putting up six points.

As for Clifton Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Clifton Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mayson Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jake Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Coming up, Grant Park will venture away from home to square off against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clifton Central, they will take on St. Thomas More in a tournament on Thursday.
