Basketball Recap: Merrill Takes a Loss

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Merrill was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 59-23 loss at the hands of the D.C. Everest Evergreens. The Bluejays just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Merrill's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for D.C. Everest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Merrill and D.C. Everest could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Merrill (ranked 365th) will meet Marshfield (ranked 172nd) at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, D.C. Everest will challenge Mosinee at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 183 places (270 vs. 87).
