Baseball Game Preview: Blazer Tomcats vs. Rowan County Vikings

Blazer hasn't had much luck against Rowan County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tomcats will challenge the Vikings at 6:30 p.m.

Blazer is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 7-2 to Spring Valley.

Letcher County Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Rowan County proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Rowan County got a great performance from Carson Madden as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Madden has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Dehart, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Aaron Pennington was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Blazer's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Rowan County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Blazer might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from Rowan County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Tomcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
