Basketball Recap: Wheatland Piles Up the Points Against Halfway

Wheatland won the last time they faced Halfway and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wheatland Mules blew past the Halfway Cardinals, posting a 55-28 victory. The Mules have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Wheatland pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Halfway, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheatland will square off against Macks Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Macks Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Halfway, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Halfway Cardinals take on the Walnut Grove Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
