Volleyball Recap: Olean Comes Up Short

Olean was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Falconer Golden Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Olean was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Falconer work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-21, 25-23.

Olean's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Falconer, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Olean and Falconer should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Huskies (ranked 71st) will meet Jamestown (ranked 218th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Falconer will take on Fredonia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 127).
