Basketball Recap: Southaven Takes a Loss

Southaven lost against Lewisburg back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southaven Chargers fell to the Lewisburg Patriots 52-48. The Chargers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Southaven lost, don't look at Cael Jones. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 22 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. Jones' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Scurry, who posted eight points.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Lewisburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Southaven will face off against Horn Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horn Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lewisburg, they will host Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
