Softball Recap: Brewster Bears vs. Eastchester Eagles

Brewster couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a rough 15-5 loss at the hands of the Eastchester Eagles on Saturday. Brewster was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastchester apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

Ava Medina was cooking despite her team's loss, going 5-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

On Eastchester's side, Sabrina Cosgrove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. Cosgrove has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season.
