Football Game Preview: Greenfield vs. Appleton City/Montrose

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Appleton City/Montrose will square off against Greenfield at 7:00 PM on Friday. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.

After a disappointing zero points in their last match, Appleton City/Montrose made sure to put some points up on the board against Sherwood last Friday. Appleton City/Montrose put a hurting on Sherwood to the tune of 60-20. Appleton City/Montrose found their leader in underclassman sophomore Tyler Stutesman, who rushed for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Greenfield put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Stockton/Sheldon 48-12. Greenfield were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Their wins bumped Appleton City/Montrose to 4-5 and Greenfield to 6-3. Greenfield's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Appleton City/Montrose defensive front that amassed eight sacks against Sherwood, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
