Basketball Recap: Elizabethton Takes a Loss

Elizabethton was the 59-54 winner over Unicoi County when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Unicoi County Blue Devils on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unicoi County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Cutlip, who posted 18 points and three steals. Cutlip's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Koda Cutlip was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Elizabethton's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Unicoi County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.

When Elizabethton and Unicoi County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Elizabethton will try to stop Tennessee's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Unicoi County will face off against Tri-Cities Christian and their eight-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
