Softball Recap: Rialto Victorious

Rialto's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Woodcrest Christian Royals. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Rylee Estrada was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Estrada was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Delilah Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Rosales, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Rialto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Rialto's record is now 5-12. As for Woodcrest Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Rialto has already played their next match, a 14-13 loss against Bloomington on the 23rd. As for Woodcrest Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat against Aquinas on the 23rd.
