Softball Recap: Blacksher Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Blacksher's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thomasville Tigers, sneaking past 5-4. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 13-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Blacksher got a great performance from Anna Grace Hollinger as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Averie Hall was incredible, going a perfect2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Laney Saucer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Blacksher hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.

Blacksher's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Thomasville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Blacksher will be playing in front of their home fans against Jay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blacksher's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Jay's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Thomasville, they will head out to square off against Washington County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
