Basketball Recap: Kevin Gomez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Colonial Christian over Pinecrest Glades Academy

Colonial Christian lost against Pinecrest Glades Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colonial Christian Patriots lost 69-48 to the Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-13.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Gomez, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Gomez a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Alexander Ovalle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Colonial Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, they moved to 2-14 with that win, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.

Colonial Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on First Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 11th. Pinecrest Glades Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
