Baseball Recap: Marion Local's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Marion Local has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.6 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell 10-7 to the St. Henry Redskins. The Flyers haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Derek Knapke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Meier, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marion Local fell to 4-1. As for St. Henry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Marion Local will challenge Lincolnview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Flyers surely won't give up without a fight. St. Henry has already played their next contest (against Russia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
