Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sonoma Valley). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the San Rafael Bulldogs 42-7 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

A big part of Sonoma Valley's victory came down to the chemistry between Dalan Lopata and his top target Hudson Giarritta. Lopata threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes while Giarritta picked up 176 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Giarritta was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 57 yards. Sonoma Valley also got a significant boost from Cayden Waldrop, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 108 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sonoma Valley's defense and their four sacks. Luis Botello was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up threehimself. He also set a new season high mark in total tackles with six.

Despite the loss, San Rafael still got an impressive performance from Lachlan Royston, who threw for 192 yards and a touchdown.

The win for Sonoma Valley keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. As for San Rafael, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
