Baseball Recap: Hinton Comets vs. Carnegie Wildcats
Hinton lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a tough 13-1 defeat at the hands of the Carnegie Wildcats. Hinton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carnegie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.
For Carnegie's part, they got a massive performance out of Brayden Holsted, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Chris Sanders, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Hinton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Carnegie, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Hinton will head out on the road to square off against Binger-Oney at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carnegie, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Riverside Indian at 4:30 p.m.
