Baseball Recap: Bremen Wins Going Away Against Tippecanoe Valley

Bremen barely beat Tippecanoe Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by an 18-11 margin over the Vikings on Saturday. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jace Pippenger was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Preston Williams, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Bremen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Bremen has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Tippecanoe Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bremen will host South Bend Adams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Culver Academies at 5:00 p.m. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
