Football Game Preview: Piper Bengals vs. Boyd Anderson Cobras + How To Watch

The Piper Bengals will face off against the Boyd Anderson Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boyd Anderson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Piper, who comes in off a win.

Piper is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 40-0 victory over Coral Springs. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won five in a row.

Jahnard Young was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Piper is undefeated when Young posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Theresias, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Piper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 290 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Another reason for the win was Piper's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Coral Springs' QB won't forget Thomas James anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Boyd Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Coconut Creek 61-0. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Cougars are ranked 54th).

Boyd Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Piper, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Piper took their win against Boyd Anderson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 34-12 score. Will the Bengals repeat their success, or do the Cobras have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
