Softball Recap: Woodlands Academy Wildcats vs. Francis W. Parker Colonels
If Woodlands Academy was feeling good off their 15-5 takedown of Christian Liberty last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Woodlands Academy Wildcats lost 29-3 to the Francis W. Parker Colonels on Tuesday. Woodlands Academy lost against Francis W. Parker in their previous head to head two weeks ago, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 15-14 score last time.
Evie Twohig was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Seliga, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all two of her plate appearances.
Woodlands Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Francis W. Parker, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodlands Academy will take on Marian Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Francis W. Parker, they will head out on the road to challenge Regina Dominican at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Regina Dominican's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last three matchups.
