Soccer Game Preview: Castro Valley vs. Piedmont

The Castro Valley Trojans will face off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Castro Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Castro Valley's offense. They fell just short of Bishop O'Dowd by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Piedmont also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berkeley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 80th).

Castro Valley now has a losing record at 4-5-1. As for Piedmont, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 0-1-3 and their overall record down to 2-5-4.
