Soccer Game Preview: Silsbee vs. Jasper

Silsbee hasn't had much luck against Jasper recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Silsbee Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Jasper Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Silsbee fell victim to Vidor and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Pirates are ranked 164th).

Meanwhile, Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Hardin-Jefferson.

This is the second loss in a row for Silsbee and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Jasper, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Silsbee's way against Jasper when the teams last played back in January, as Silsbee made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silsbee since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
