Baseball Recap: Hilmar Find Success

Hilmar won the last time they faced Orestimba and things went their way on Friday too. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Hilmar got a great performance from Marlin Kindberg as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Kindberg a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Hilmar let Ian Kohen and Jacob Sward run wild. Kohen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Sward scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was John Lopez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hilmar's record is now 12-2. As for Orestimba, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hilmar will take on Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Orestimba, they will square off against Ripon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
