Volleyball Recap: Western Christian Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Western Christian entered their tilt with Ganesha on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Ganesha Giants.

While Western Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 25-16.

Michael Mapes paced Western Christian's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mapes got some help from Mack Kurth and his 23 assists. Mapes was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Western Christian pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ganesha, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Christian will host La Sierra Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ganesha, they will welcome Edgewood at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give Edgewood their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
