Basketball Recap: Grand Ledge Comes Up Short

Grand Ledge lost against Waverly on February 10th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Grand Ledge Comets received a blow as they fell 73-56 to the Waverly Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd in Michigan, while the Warriors are ranked ninth in Michigan).

This is the second loss in a row for Grand Ledge and nudges their season record down to 9-12. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Waverly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Grand Ledge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waverly, they will be taking part in a tournament against East Lansing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with East Lansing sitting on 16 straight wins and Waverly on five.
