Hemlock extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 14-2 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Valley Lutheran Chargers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

As for Valley Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-5 Michigan Lutheran Seminary (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71% over those games).

For Valley Lutheran's part, Axel Schuette was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tyler Belt-Captain also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
