Football Game Preview: Johnsburg Skyhawks vs. Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen

The Johnsburg Skyhawks will face off against the Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Johnsburg will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Johnsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Harvard for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-14 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Skyhawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Carter Block was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 210 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Ryan Franze also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Despite a strong season so far, Durand/Pecatonica has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They came up short against Lena-Winslow on Friday, falling 40-20. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Johnsburg will have to contain Lukas Rossow as he made an impact in Durand/Pecatonica's last game. He threw for 115 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 94 yards. Durand/Pecatonica's leading receiver Cooper Hamilton was Rossow's top target yet again, picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Durand/Pecatonica's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Johnsburg, their record is now 7-2.
