Softball Recap: Blooming Grove Drops Season-High Score on Rice

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blooming Grove). They put the hurt on the Rice Bulldogs with a sharp 24-2 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Blooming Grove and bumps their season record up to 18-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Rice, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3-1.

Blooming Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rice: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
