Basketball Recap: Gilead Christian Comes Up Short

If Gilead Christian was feeling good fresh off their 50-19 takedown of Harvest Temple Christian Academy on December 9th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gilead Christian Eagles took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grove City Christian Eagles on Friday. Gilead Christian was down 36-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Rylee Thompson had an outrageously good game for Grove City Christian as she posted 20 points and five steals. Those 20 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Sarah Karlich was another key player, putting up five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Gilead Christian's record is now 1-4. As for Grove City Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.

Gilead Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crestline at 1:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. As for Grove City Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-24 loss against Briggs on the 28th.
