Basketball Recap: Quitman Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Quitman rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Bigelow Panthers. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Quitman's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Bigelow, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-9.

Quitman and Bigelow are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Quitman is taking a road trip to challenge Des Arc at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Quitman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Des Arc likes a good challenge. As for Bigelow, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
