Memphis East won the last time they faced Southwind and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Memphis East Mustangs managed a 60-54 victory over the Southwind Jaguars. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Jaguars are ranked 19th).

Southwind's loss came despite strong showings from Kristopher Carrol and Ronald Towns. Carrol shot 60% from the field en route to 25 points and seven rebounds, while Towns went 6-for-14 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave Carrol a new career-high in points.

The victory made it two in a row for Memphis East and bumps their season record up to 16-12. As for Southwind, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.

Coming up, Memphis East will take on Whitehaven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitehaven will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Memphis East surely won't give up without a fight. Southwind does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
