Basketball Game Preview: Harrisonburg Blue Streaks vs. Spotswood Trailblazers

Harrisonburg is 2-8 against Spotswood since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Harrisonburg Blue Streaks will face off against the Spotswood Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. Harrisonburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Spotswood likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Harrisonburg beat Rockbridge County 57-50.

Meanwhile, Spotswood had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They breezed by the Eagles to the tune of 63-35. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

Harrisonburg has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Spotswood, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Harrisonburg was dealt a bruising 71-39 loss at the hands of Spotswood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Harrisonburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
