Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 22-1 to the McPherson Bullpups. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 23-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Rafael Ecot was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Winfield suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 0-3-2. As for McPherson, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McPherson beat Winfield by a score of 22-0 later that day.
