Baseball Game Preview: Russellville Cyclones vs. Conway Wampus Cats

Russellville is 0-4 against Conway since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Cyclones will welcome the Wampus Cats at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Russellville 2.4, Conway 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Russellville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Harrison, who was ranked 14th at the time (Russellville was ranked ninth). The Cyclones fell just short of the Goblins by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Cyclones couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Conway strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on North Little Rock with a sharp 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wampus Cats, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Conway pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Russellville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
