Basketball Recap: Lund Comes Up Short

Lund lost against Owyhee back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lund Mustangs lost to the Owyhee Braves at home by a 63-47 margin. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rolando Espitia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Owyhee, going 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and four steals. The matchup was Espitia's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Hunter Smart was another key player, going 8 of 15 en route to 18 points.

Lund's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Owyhee, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-13.

Lund didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-8 victory against Carlin on the 1st. Owyhee has also already played their next game, a 44-28 defeat against Eureka on the 1st.
