Socorro extends home winning streak to three

Recap: Socorro Warriors vs. Hatch Valley Bears

The Socorro Warriors took a 23-point loss the last time they faced off against the Hatch Valley Bears, but they managed to turn things around on Tuesday. Socorro skirted past Hatch Valley 51-49. The win made it back-to-back wins for Socorro.

Hatch Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caydence Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Roberts scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Miah Martinez, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Socorro's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-15. As for Hatch Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Socorro will head out on the road to square off against Cobre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Cobre is ranked 134th, while Socorro is ranked 115th). As for Hatch Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. Hatch Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
