Football Recap: Jalijah Rutledge Key Part of Team Effort in Blue Devils Win

Moody won the last time they faced Jacksonville and things went their way on Friday too. The Blue Devils blew past the Golden Eagles 42-21. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 102nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moody's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalijah Rutledge, who picked up 140 receiving yards and two scores. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Rutledge a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Le'Kamren Meadows, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Moody's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cam Mallory, Willie Kimble, and Joshua Willet, who each picked up one sack apiece. Kaiden Mitchell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Moody now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jacksonville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
