MaxPreps 2016-17 Hawaii Preseason Girls Basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Konawaena (Kealakekua)
2015-16 record: 26-1
Head coach: Bobbie Awa

The Wildcats graduated four seniors off last year's 10-person roster. The team beat Maryknoll 44-34 in last year's state Division I final, its seventh title in 13 seasons. Konawaena returns leading scorer Cherilyn Molina (17.0 ppg) a 5-5 junior, and her sister Celena Molina (12.0), a 5-9 senior.

2. Maryknoll (Honolulu)
2015-16 record: 26-3
Head coach: Thomas Furtado

The Spartans would love nothing more than a rematch with Konawaena in the state final. They graduated only one senior off last year's team and should return Rhianne Omori and Dakota Vienna, a pair of junior guards who combined for 17 points in last year's state finals. The deep and quick Spartans are looking to win their first state title since 1978.

3. Lahainaluna (Lahaina)
2015-16 record: 24-3
Head coach: Todd Rickard

The Lunas graduated just four seniors off an 18-person roster last year. They've gone a combined 67-7 the last three seasons but lost a heartbreaking 63-61 Division 1 semifinal to Maryknoll last season. The previous season, the Lunas beat Maryknoll 55-44 in the semifinals. Junior guard Braeanna Estabillo and senior forward Lisa Hafoka are key returners for Lahainaluna.
